Wrongful Discharge
Recently I was "laid off" due to a workforce reduction The company I worked for violated their own policies such as first laying off employees with active corrective action, I have greater seniority, better yearly evals, a multitude of commendations from clients as well co-workers/ I have missed one day in 12 years of service I switched from 7a-3p to 3p-11p 3 years ago without complaint at their suggestion I have more licensure and special skills related to the job than my co-workers in the same posistion even the HR person told me that this was "a violation of company policy" So my question is Do i have a case against this employer? I am in Virginia

If you relied on their policies and they did not follow them, then yes you do have a potential suit.

There are not any Labor laws that force an employer to abide by their own polices unless it can be shown the policies were part of a binding contract or cba. Now a law suit can prove to be very time consuming and possbily costly to you. Think hard before you attempt this and meet with several Lawyers familar with labor laws first. In mean time file for UI
