Default not sure of my rights

i work at a hotel and while i was on duty yesterday 2 different guests claim they had $15.
00 taken from their rooms. i thought i smelled smoke yesterday comming from upstairs so i went up and actually entered rooms to check to see where it was comming from, which is part of my job. of course i look like the guilty party but i did not take the money. they do have cameras here and they will see me entering rooms, so do they have the right to fire me?

It is not unlawful to fire an employee for "suspected" theft

They have the right to fire you for any or no reason. Just as you can quit with no reason or for any reason.

When employers want to fire an employee, of course they are not going to fire over something that can get them in trouble, i.e. discrimination, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, etc. They are going to come up with something innocuous that points the finger at the employee as being the bad apple.

That's simply how employer/employee relationships work. Self employment is the only way to go.
