Confused Possible Layoff

Hello:

I work for a small company (close to 200 people). My immediate supervisor is creating lot of problems. He tries to be very polite with me but when he talk to the big-bosses in the company, he creates a bad environment for me. I am an average junior employee and just doing my job. I think he is causing so much of bad name for me that eventually my company may lay me off.

In addition, I am going on a FMLA because of family emergency which he is not liking at all. He wants to use my leave as a weapon for retaining one contractor (also his friend).

Last year he also took a personal loan from me for $2000.00 (promised me to return in a month or two) but its been a year and he is not talking about it (I have a signed paper from him) but I am again scared of asking because he is my boss.

I don't know what to do. I have a small kid at home and I don't want to cause more problems for myself at the same time I don't want to lose my job.

Any suggestions???

Default Re: Possible Layoff

This is a bad management situation but is not illegal.

Ask for repayment. Tell your supervisors of the issues he creates (or just ignore it and work hard).

And look around for other jobs if things don't improve.
