So i was recently terminated for doing two days of a no call no show which I didnt do because I called into a team lead who failed to inform my team lead who was absent the day I called in. It is company policy to call in before ur scheduled time which i failed to do but I have also done it in the past and have not received any prior warning for. Was this a wrongful termination?

A "Wrongful Termination" is a firing that violates law. No law was broken here

what if the company failed to follow the discharge proceedings as outlined in the employee manual. I was never given any documented verbal or written warning.

There exist no law (outside of employment contracts or Union contract) that forces an employer to follow its own policy. Google "at will"

does that mean anything or am I still far from having a reason? =)
"Implied contract exceptions Implied employment contracts are most often found when an employer's personnel policies or handbooks indicate that an employee will not be fired except for good cause or specify a process for firing. If the employer fires the employee in violation of an implied employment contract, the employer may be found liable for breach of contract" |
