Terminated from my job stating that I violated company policy
I was recently terminated from my job stating that I violated company policy.
The company policy states that we are not allowed to enter an account that belongs to someone we know for reasons of conflict of interest. The account that I entered was from a customer that was referred to me from my wife. The customer is my wife's employer. I do not have a personal relationship with this customer. She basically referred her boss to me, he called me and setup a time to meet at the store, and when he came in i took care of him. During the meeting in which i was terminated, phone records showed that a day or two prior to the transaction, the customer called and spoke with me and has called a handfull of times afterwards when needing more help with the product. The call records "proved" the prior relationship between me and the customer. How does this differ from any other referral activity? Do I have anything? I know employers can terminate for any reason or no reason at all, but the fact that they are stating my termination is in violation of policy when in actuality it was not. Thanks for your help! Michael |

You could consult your nearest Department of Labor office to briefly discuss the issue with them first...you may also want to ask the company to put what is happening in writing and explain to them that you may have attorneys review the situation...try speaking to a higher level of management about the issue
WLD could likely intervene if need be. |

There is a good chance that I will be terminiated from my job with in the next 2 day. I have be fasely accused about putting derogatory things on face book on my company, workes and myself. Whick when I found it out I printed my whole face book profile and there is not one post what so ever about me hating my job. It talked about stress. I was able to get Awell know medical director that is on my facebook to tell them it is all lies and same with someone else high up in power. Now when that didn't pan ot they are digging for more, Saying that I have been rude and hate ful to family members and casemanagers and when i give the name and infor to call those poeple that are making the complaints they say they are not going to worry about it.. To me I smell set up., SOmeone wants my job which she left the company and her postition was filled and I have a feeling she is after mine.. She is a snake in the grass. but she is friends with our corporate bosses.
Can I please get some advice.. Do I have a leg to stand on in court |

First of all you talk to the employer and convince him that, there was no personal relationship between you and the customer. If the employer is not at all convinced then you can sue the employer in court for wrongful termination. Moreover when an employee is found to violate company policy then the employer is bound to give an official notice of the infraction which in your case (is presumed from the facts) was not given. This provision is also violated. So not only at Court but also at the Human Resources department you can raise this issue and notify them that your rights have been violated.
