Confused Firefighter

Yes I would like to know about being a volunteer firefighter in Florida..I been a volunteer firefighter for 7 years then out of nowere they said I can not be in the department if I do not have my civil rights....I lost my rights 18 years ago with a charge not related to firefighting and in the making on trying to get them back... I would like to is there anything I can do or can they kick me out of the department if I am volunteering?
