Confused Deceptive hiring pratices

I was offered a position at Sun Bank of AZ, by the AZ District Manager, as a assistant manager, I told the District Manager no I didn't want the position because is would meam a cut in pay and I would loose two week of vacation and that I was happy where I was. The District Manager than proceeded to tell me about the Branch Manager position the salery, the bonus ect. at that point since is would pe a permotion and pay increase I accepted the position and gave my two week notice at my curent job. My first day at the new job everyone was acting funny so upon filling out my paper work I asked the Operations Manager what was my position title and he told me Assistant Manager? I told him that I think I was hired as the Manager and he told me that I would have to wait until the District Manager got there. So I emailed the District Manager and asked for and apointment and two and a half weeks later he shows up at the branch, takes another assistant manager into the office and comes out and hour late and anounces that this other perosn is the manager, well I was so shocked, I confronted the District manager and asked him why this happen since I didn't want the assistant manager job, and he just told me it was my choice, I said my choice was baised on the information he had given me, and why would you miss-lead me into this job that I told you I didn't want and the reasons why, now I have not job, I couldn't believe what had happened to me I tried to stay on at the bank but emothionly I just couldn't do feeling that I had been violated and integerty had been broken, I am now a emotional basket case with no job, I went to try to get my former job back but because the District Mgr waited 2 1/2 weeks for me to find this out my position had been filled and in order to go back to the company that I worked for to get back my sinority I would have to comute 100 miles a day round trip. How can someone do this to someone, there has got to be a law against it, but I sure can't find it. I can't believe that you can actually do this and no one cares?
I am devastated in Cottonwood.

Default Re: Deceptive hiring pratices

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior...you did rely on their offer and its terms!
