Wrongful Dismissal
4/30/08
Writing for my daughters' wrongful dismissal from her employment. She works at a day care center. She is a teachers' aide. Been employed since 2004 at her place of employment. Told to leave her job pending an investigation. Parent came into daughters classroom looking for her son. The procedure for leaving kids in another teachers classroom is to make teacher aware you are leaving kids, and leave their names too. Licensed teacher left children in my daughters room, did not announce she was leaving them, and who they were. Therefore, my daughter did not know parents son was in her class. Mother became very upset, accused my daughter of not taking care of her son. Before my daughter left work, assistant director stated that a claim had been filed at DCFS on my daughter. Licensed teacher who was in the wrong to my knowledge is still working, and was not reprimanded at all, when the incident was her fault. It has been two weeks today, since she has been out of work. Assistant director has not responded to whether or not she has been terminated. Sent letter to her asking her to respond to so called investigation, and DCFS claim, she signed for letter, but no response as of this date. My daughter went to unemployment office yesterday, and is awaiting a date to go back to be interviewed. Boss has not been following State of IL Day Care Licensing Requirements according to online rules and regulations. My daughter has been a teachers aide since 2001. Never any claims filed, or any complaints by parents. Parents are so satisfied with her care, that they have hired her outside of school to take care of their children. Please respond as soon as possible. She would like to return to work, or at least make sure her record is clear to look for other employment. Thank you and have a good day!
