Hospital Bills from 2006

How far back can a Rochester, NY hospital bill you for a visit(s) ?
After 2 years I am getting billed from our local hospital. I find this
an odd practice for such a long period of time has pass after the visits
. Bills are under 15 dollars each .
Co-pays were payed at the time of each doctors visit and I called the hospital
they told me that it was hospital fee for each visit. All bills are for the year 2006
as of Jan 24, 2006 until end of 2006.

but you can also try to argue that if no initial bill ever came that billing now is unreasonable and unfair--and not accurate and dispute it in small claims...
