Medical bills and collections

I have medical bills from a visit to the ER in Pennsylvania back in July. I
disputed the charges because the doctor said I had a \"Back muscle
strained\" but the nurse told me to get home and get checked out soon. When
I got home in Tennessee 1 day later I had kidney stones and appendicitis.
So I have talked to the Radiologly grop, the hospital and the doctors
billing company to dispute but now 4 months later the doctors billing
company has turned me over to collections. I tried to call the collection
agency to explain but the people there are not very nice people and told me
if I didn\'t pay It would be reported on my credit. So what can I do if
they report me? And is there any reason why I did not recieve any notice
from the medical provider on this bill after the first one that I disputed?

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office.
