Confused I have a question

My grandparents are in a nursing home in Michigan recovering from open heart surgery and the state is now threatening to take their house and is also denying them home health care. Is this at all legal and is it possible that they can take the house and the rest of their property?

Default Re: I have a question

Normally they cannot take it but can place liens etc. for care.

Meet with social services staff or an elder law lawyer briefly and have the details reviewed.

There are many options but it helps to have a brief meeting with a reputable financial planner first--then all options including trusts, gifts etc. can be carefully reviewed by you depending on your individual circumstances--options do vary widely depending on the details in this area of planning.
