Can the hospital bill me 400 more on 3200 because I did not pay to first 3200 on time?

Normally no!

They can charge reasonable interest as outlined in your agreement with them but not 400 on 3200---unless the debt is VERY old possibly.

Here's the rub. Uninsured patients pay 50% more in medical bills than insured patients. That's right. One would think it would be the other way around, but it's not. The uninsured absorb the costs for the insured.

If you got a bill for $400, you can bet had you been insured the bill would have been $200. Medical professional pad their invoices so you end up paying $10.00 for a .50 cent pill. It's outrageous. Medical reform NOW!

Yes. They can put interest to the previous charge.
