Does the definition of \"medical record\" cover only a specific period or is it an ongoing, open file that is added to, changes, and alters with patient health care and events?
I obtained a free copy of my medical records from a health care provider two years ago. I recently submitted a request for a free copy of my medical records that have occurred during the last two years. There is \"no\" overlapping in requested time frame, dates, or events. However, the health care provider wants to charge me for my \"first\" copy of the medical records for the new time frame. They insist that they have already given me my free copy two years ago. |
