One third to 40 percent is common, and you certainly can negotiate. It is best to speak with a couple of lawyers before making any decision. Especially in these contingency fee cases.

Confused Re: personal injury law

I was shot with a 30\30 dear riffel back in the early 90's at the time of hospitalization I was highly sadated with morfine; I was told that there were lawers in my hospital room asking me if I was going to sue; I just found out (through hearsay) that if I would've agreed at that time, that I would've been awarded 1 mil by the state. if that is true then I was'nt at all rightfully informed; because as I said I was highly sadated; and not in my right mind; Is it to late to go back now? I did however get a judgement for 1 mil through a local attorny; but it is non collectable sence the one that shot me chooses to work under the table; I am missing a leg from this and I sure would like some kind of compansation; they also refered me to contact the victom's crime fund; however they blew my off buy saying that they have no funding available. I was more or less givin the run around; however I do get disability at this time; but I can hardly keep my house going with $643 per mo. and my home needs repairs, I have no transpertation, and I am behind on my property taxes; I still feel like a victom. please help me if you can. Thank You Very Much. sincearly. Ronald Garrrow.

You may want to have somebody help you to seek out the assets of the judgment debtor. If there is money under the table it usually can be discovered.

World Law's lawyers could also probably intervene and help resolve this if need be. You may email them on the home page.
