Question H-1B renewal fees

Hi,

Can someone tell how much is the visa renewal fees right now for H1?
This is the 1st time I am renewing my visa.

I think it's about $1.500 for H-1B visa renewal plus about $1000.00 for a lawyer's work.

See this article about amendment to an immigration reform bill in the US Senate called for H-1B visa petition fees to increase from $1,500 to $5,000 per visa.

$5,000... that's a pretty high fee in my humble opinion.

Fee for US H-1B visas may triple
