H1-H4 Urgent plz help

Hello,

I have few questions regarding the change of my visa status from H1-H4-H1 and I request you to help me with my below queries. Thank you.

I came to USA on H4 visa on Feb 2008 which is valid till 2011. I got my H1b visa in April 2008.
Due to market condition, I have been on bench for 6 months and I dont have paystubs.
I know that i am currently out of status.
I have few questions:

1. If i want to visit india, as my h4 visa is still valid till 2011, do i have to go for H4 stamping once again in chennai.
2. Can I re-enter US with my old H4 visa without going to chennai?
3. Do i have to convert from h1b to h4 visa here?
