My parents entered USA with green card on Feb. 2008, and then went back to China on Nov, 2008, after that they stayed oversea almost four years. Now they like to come back to USA to visit me. Are they able to enter USA using their green card? If not, what document do they need to enter USA?

Look at the expired green card. Note the date of issuance and the expiration date, both listed on the front of the card. If the card was valid for two years (because it is a conditional green card), your green card has expired for good, holds no validity and is not eligible for renewal.

If your card was valid for 10 years, you did not physically leave the U.S. for more than 12 months at a time and the card is considered to have expired within a reasonable enough amount of time for your card to possibly be eligible for renewal.

Download a green card renewal application from the US Immigration website. There will be a cost for downloading the form. Carefully fill out the form being sure on to leave anything blank, otherwise your application could be rejected. When complete return the application with the applicable fee.

Thank you all for replying, very helpful.
My parent don't want to renew green card, instead they are interested in obtaining visitor visa. What document do they need to prepare for obtaining non-immigration visa? and What's the chance they will get visitor visa? |
