expired green card

virginia. well ill start on how it happened.custody was taken from my mom at age 15 and given to fairfax.i was sent to a program for five years.my green card expired in 2004.one year before it was to expire my judge and lawyer told my social worker to renew it before it expired this was told to her in a court room.my judge even asked about u.s citizenship and they said i could not obtain it.my mom tried to renew it for me but immigration told her she could not for the simple fact that she did not have custody of me.so my judge retired and the only thing my social worker did was take a photo for my passport.so my green card expired and thats how its been till now i havent had money till recently.ive been homeless and not being able to get a job is what hurts.ive been in this country since i was one year old.well i am now trying to fix this and ive had alot of people say i might be turned down and looose my money.so my question is what can i do.
