Georgia..A friend of mine is filling out an immigration form (I-751)that ask him to respond yes or no to the following statement "have you ever been arrested, cited, charged.......fined or imprisoned for breaking any law or ordinance (excluding traffic regulation)".....He was arrested and cited for leaving the scene of accident and had to appear in court and pled nolo. Is this considered a simple traffic regulation or is it more by immigration law standards. He thinks it's ok for him to put NO because it's a traffic regulation is he correct.

If you hire a new lawyer, your new lawyer should take care of the process of getting your file from your former lawyer and getting any necessary substitution of counsel filed with the court.
You can hire any lawyer you want, as long as they're licensed to practice in the court where your case is pending, but hiring one near the courthouse can save you from having to pay for your lawyer's travel time. |
