How long does it usually take for someone in my situation to get the greencard?

my u.s.citizen husband applied for me, under the I-130 application form, a year and a month ego. I came to the U.S. in 1996. Now i am 22 years old.
So far...i am told by my lawyer that i have to wait for my priority date...or for the laws to change in my favor.
my priority date...or processing date is not listed on the ins website...so i have no idea when i could possibly get my greencard.

i have not even gone to the interview..or for biometrics...

how long does it usually take for someone in my situation to get the greencard...or at least a work permit?

i want to better myself, i want to help my husband but so far i feel like im just leeching off him...im desperate...i want to go to a university.

I would suggest you have a second lawyer look over your status and papers.
