Exclamation The government stole from me!

Hello,

My name is Esam, and I am from Jordan.

Does any goverment have any kind of right to take money from citizens
without their permission?!

Here is the situation, I woke up in the morning, received a text
message on my mobile (SMS) saying "1 JD has been taken from your credit to suport Universities".

I mean, yes I would love to pay that 1 JD, but with MY OWN WILL. They
didn't take that from all people who hold mobiles. We have 4 networks, and
I think only one Network members has paid, and not all of them. Though they posted in the newspaper the next day that it has been taking from all mobile holders. They didn't tell us about it, we don't really know where the money gone. It is STEALING isn't it?!

WHY?! They can sue me if I refused to pay, but they took the 1 JD without
even asking me, or asking the people. And they are willing to take it on regular basis. I am still a student at Universitry of Jordan. I do not work. And they take that support for university from Land Number bill, as well as they took it from my all family members. Imagine!!

I'd love to sue them. Am I right or not?!

The other money any goverment take are based on people's will. People pay for taxex, pay for services via some bills, but it's with their own will. And the goverment would sue them if they didn't pay it. But never just take it without their permission.

Please Help, cause I feel they are deriding us-the goverment. I don't feel this is right action from the goverment.

Thanks.

Unless that is part of your contract somehow that cannot be done. You could object and ask for a refund--even sue in a small claims type court if you want to.

it's just the principle i'm talking about..

colleting about 4-5 millions JDs in matter of minutes without their permission or notifying them..

Try to get all persons to act together and seek a refund--much like a class action in the US. You could use the web or other methods.

Smile Re: The government stole from me!

Can you claim it back as a rebate?

Ask to view a copy of your networks policy regarding the deduction. You may have agreed to it upon signing on to the network.

Or, send them an invoice (for your 1JD) and see what their reaction is!

"Tis the squeaky wheel that gets the oil!"

Good luck
