Well this week started out with me sitting on hold for 4 1/2 hours with the Texas Medicaid "Helpline". While I was doing that I had a phone in my other ear, calling whoever I could for some answers. The Texas Medicaid "Helpline" is where you go when all of the doctors in your provider handbook refuse Medicaid and the plan. The Number (on the back of the Texas Medicaid I.D. card) to the Texas Medicaid "Helpline" is 1-866-566-8989 select option 4. One thing has happen they are now playing that horrible Musak, I could have never stayed on hold that long listening to that.

Here is a chart of the ombudsmans division. I finally hung up on the Texas Medicaid Helpline when I was told in the other ear that the beneficiary's advocate division had been discontinued. They were keeping a file on my whole ordeal, I wonder where it went? Anyways, on the chart they are the section in mauve, its pink to me. A fine group of people who had no problem getting an HMO supervisor on the line, when they realized I was getting the run around. When the Supers would realize who they were talking to they would be all "How can we serve you better".

this page now googles on Texas Medicaid

and nationally on Adult Medicaid second page and climbling, I left out the Ad*lt today so I will have something to do next week while I am waiting for the phone not to ring.

Maybe my State Rep. will reply... draw your own conclusions.

I often challenge myself to defend my own position. As to my claim of entitlement. I am correct. My entitlement is based on my Medicare, the fact that at some point in my Life I attain a maturity due to attaining an age requirement and having paid into Soc. Sec. I have accumulated points. The ammended Soc.Sec. Act provides that before that attainment should I be determined disabled that I qualify for the supplement Medicaid. Neither the Federal Government or State statute can supercede or seperate me from my entitlement. The state is required to provide matching funds to recieve the Federal alloment. The state cannot legislate to diminish the rights of the BENEFICIARES of federal entitlement.

From time to time I'll inject tid-bits...

The State is applying for a variation, for permissions to subsidize Insurance basically with vouchers. Can you spell COPAY, DEDUCTIBLE, DENIAL never mind I just did it for you. I think that the first requirement to beg the FEDS for concideration is good Stewardship. Ooops!!!

Sophia Mcgrew there was a unconcionable traversty carried out against you. You were denied on the basis of an Improper Standard and the Judge knew it.

HEY ANYONE KNOW? How long does your Soc. Sec. account (ss#) stay acitve. I will give you a HINT, the answer ends with "and one day."

Sumpin intersting...

The Austin AMERICAN Statesman has an article where they (THHS) confess.

did not get the health care that the federal government guarantees them under Medicaid.

This was a settlement.

They want to act as if they were a company (inc.). NO! they are under the colour...

My Dear State Rep,

When we meet and we will, I will ask you one question.

DO NOT answer "My constituents."

Angry Re: Texas Adult Medicaid BAIT & SWITCH!!!

I just want to say to you good luck. My husband is recently disabled from a back injury and we are beginning our quest to be covered by medicaid. The first response was that he wasn't eligible because I, his wife, work. How horrible am I? I mean work? Even though I am completely able minded and able bodied I guess I should just quit so he can get covered. They said that the 1300 a month I bring home is more than enough to support a family of 3, which includes a disabled adult and a 4 year old. That should be plenty to cover the 13 to 25 thousand dollar surgery they say he needs. Did you ever find any legal help? Can we all band together as disabled adults in need and sue the state? Why do they not help the people who need it the most?

I will also be watching
this because we were also denied last year and frankly I cannot even today really understand what exactly happened.

Maybe the attorney general needs to take public comments on this whole situation???
