Default i-130 approved but i-485 denied

Hi. I had a bad lawyer who incorrectly advised me that I do not need to register with NSEERS because I am originally from Palestine. My i-485 was denied because I didn't register, because I hold a Jordanian passport. I received a letter stating that the application for Adjustment of Status was denied for failure to register, that the matter is not eligible for appeal but that the decision is without prejudice to future applications. Around the same time, I received an approval notice regarding my i-130 application. (My USC daughter applied for me.) I want to fire my lawyer because they already took from me over $4,000 and know that she will ask for more. She didn't even know how to advise me on the matter and am sure she's confused as to what to do.

I'm wondering if the only thing that is required is to file a new i-485 as a registered individual.

Please advise.

I have an approved I-130 (aug 2008) from my mother when I was single and approved I-140 (aug 2008) via my husband employment. I have filed an AOS based on approved I-140 and have received ead card and AP. But USCIS has sent a package to my mom. Should she notify USCIS to cancel the approved I-130 since it has become invalid and will this delay my FP appointment since they have not sent it out as yet for approved i-140.
