Question Sponsor's responsibility for USA B2 visitor

I am planning to sponsor my blood relatives B2 visa.
How far is a sponsor responsible for a visitor? Is it just limited to financial responsibility or am I responsible for the safe and on time return of the visitor too?
Normal visa granted these days is for 10 years multiple entry visa (as I have noticed), would I be responsible for the individuals future visits too, even if I am unaware of them?

The responsibility can be broad-ranging. Don't do it if you are not 100% comfortable.

Thanks for the answer. I was thinking if there was some way to support the person in visa process, but still not get involved too much. If I send a invitation letter but do not sponsor directly, would that have the same kind of risks involved in it or will be different?
