Preference Category Issue: 2A v. 2B
My parents (LPRs) filed my I-130 request in July 20, 2005. I was born in November 4, 1984 (so I was four months shy of turning 21). I recently received my approval on December 17, 2008. I am wondering if I would be able to keep my 2A preference category, or am I automatically bumped down to 2B?

Only if your visa priority date is current (a visa # is available) before you turn 21 under the CSPA, which subtracts the time your petition was pending from your physical age, to arrive at CSPA age. Call the NVC at 1-603-334-0700 if your visa # is available.
