Hello, my mother, a U.S. Citizen, applied for a permanent visa for my sister who lives in Honduras, Central America in 2004. As of right now they know that the application is at the National Visa Center. It took 4 years to reach that destination. And from the visa bulletin it looks like the applications from 2002 are current. Does that mean that it could be another 4 years before any progress on the visa is made? My sister has a 10 year tourist visa already and wants to visit this year. Is there a process to obtain permanent residence while she is here?
