J-1 VISA AND MARRIAGE

Hello. I am currently in the USA with a j1 visa. I am getting married this month to my boyfriend. He was born in the USA, however hw lived in my home country, where we met and dated for 3 years. We moved to the USA together 1 year ago. We wanted to come to be close to his family. Our intention was never to stay here. All my family is in my home country and our plan was just to come here for ine year. However he has proposed to me and we have decided we want to stay here for a longer period of time. I had the 2 year home resi, requ however got a waiver for that. We are filling all the documents, however I am afraid that they will think that it was our intention to come here and get married. How can I prove that it was never our intention to stay here but that thinks just happened like this???

Can you tell us how you got waiver of your home residency requirement? If you already got a waiver then you do not have to worry.

Hi! I got the no objection letter from my home country and got approved. I know that I can legally get married know but I am just afraid that they will say I had a dual intent when moving here?? I did not have in my plan staying here and getting married.
