Confused Legal name change

Hi,
My 18 yr. old son wants to change his last name to my husband and I's last name. We've downloaded the necessary Pennsylvania name change forms, had his fingerprints taken and filed the paperwork with the courthouse. We've received the hearing date in the mail. The next step is to publish notice of his intent in two newspapers. Nowhere on the paper tells us how long these notices must run...only that they need to be in two different publications. I asked the prothonotary and she didn't know the answer but directed me to a website on PA law. I checked the site but still couldn't find out anything more. I've called several lawyers who have not returned my calls.
I would think that somewhere there is a format or guidelines to write this type of notice as well as details of how long they need to be run in the papers.
Is there anyone who can help me?
Thanks in advance

Try the instructions on these forms above. If that does not help, let us know.

I am in the same predicament as you and wonder if you have gotten a response that doesn't require you to purchase more help. I've already paid for my initial name change kit and the filing fees - all that's left is to run the public notice, and like you, no one seems to be able to give me that information.

The clerk of the court should know--they see that all the time

For anyone that is interested and needs this information, I have successfully completed the name change for my son. I posted the public notice in 2 local newspapers and once in the Legal Journal by the BAR Association and the notices only had to appear one time. It was only required to be published in two sources, but one of our newspapers is a Wednesday only free edition and I was not sure if it would actually count or not, so I used 3 sources. I obtained the correct wording from an existing notice in one of the newspapers.
