Confused medicaid receipiant and child support

Does a person who receives Medicaid have to take child support and assistance from the Attorney General if it is not wanted? Am I obligated to take any assistance or cooperate with the office?

Any reciepient of any type of public assistance, including medicaid is obligated to cooperate with the state in locating an absent parent and getting a CS order. If the reciepient refuses to cooperate their benefits can be cut off.

Legally, yes there is a requirement for a CS order. However, once that order is issued, and the CS is paid to the CP, the CP can legally turn around and refund the money to the NCP if they wish. However, that really doesn't make any sense, it would be far better to take the money and either support the child with it or put it into a bank account toward the child's future.
