My 14 year old niece phoned to tell me that my sister(her mother) has been
physically hurting her for a few months now and that she wants to come stay with me temporarily. They live in different state than I. What are the legal ramifications of me picking her up at her friends house and bring her to mine ? Could I be arrested for bringing a minor across the state line ? Who would I contact to get some help to this family? |

Yes, you could be arrested. You can contact your niece's state's child protective services and ask them to investigate the situation. Your call will be kept confidential. |
