Confused Liable?

My ex wife applied for counceling thru her companies Cost free Employee

assistance program for Family counceling in May of 2007. The councelor
met
with both my ex wife and I together, each of us seperatly at least on
one
occasion and met with each of our children. Two days ago (August 27th
2007)
I received a phone call from the councelor stating that my ex wife is
refusing to allow the councelor to submit the one session that I
attended by
myself to her insurance program. The councelor is threatening to send
the
bill to a unpaid collection program if I do not pay for the session.
The
sessions were set up after our devorce was final by my ex wife using a
free
service thru her Employee assistance program. I was not ordered by the

courts to attend but attended for the sake of our children to help them
cope
with the devorce. My ex wife has never said anything to me about her
not
claiming htis session. The councelor wants me to sign paperwork to
allow
the councelor to submit the unpaid bill to my insurance. Am I liable
for
the cost of this session. I was never informed that I would be
responsible
for ANY portion of the program.
Please advise.

If you did not agree to pay you need not pay. It is her duty to do so.

Your ex-wife's insurance probably will not cover your private session with the counselor. Since you are now divorced, her insurance and benefits no longer cover you. Will your insurance cover your session? For the sake of your children, why not let your insurance pay for this one session. One session can't be that much. And if it is covered by your insurance and is for your children's benefit...
