Default Parental Rights

Here is the situation

I am 19 and am 3 ½ months pregnant. My ex, a potential father of my child, has not been helping with any medical bills or any other expenses so far. He wants full rights, and I do not see him stepping up and being a good father, financially or emotionally. After the baby is born I am moving several hours away, with my new spouse, who is wanting to take full legal responsibility of the child. If I do not put my ex on the birth certificate will he have any legal rights, I do not want to pay for a paternity test for the simple fact i am swamped with medical bills and do not even want him a part of my life or part of the childs.

can anyone give LEGAL advice or help me out with this situation, my email is heather.robertson@sgwealth.com

he can force a DNA test and if he is the father he will have some visitation rights--and child support obligations.

if your ex is the father, he will have as many rights as you, and will have the rights to file for custody/vistation. and your spouse will have no rights at all. you dont get to decide your ex is not going to be part of the child's life if he is the father.you chose to lay down and concieve a child with him, now you will be dealing with him for 18 years if he is the father, like it or not. and btw, dont even think of putting your spouses name on the bc, you both know he is not the father, and youll be committing the crime of fraud.
