Default fathers rights

my 18 year old son and his 17 year old girlfriend are expecting a baby. She has been put in a foster home by the state cause her mother is a child abueser. My son wants to go to the doctor appts. she wants him there too.Does he have the legal right to go? We live in Ga.

If the mother says ok the hospital should allow it. He does not yet have the rights of a married man or father already on the birth certificate etc,
