In our divorce (3+ yrs. ago) my ex was supposed to obain at least 100k in life ins. with our 2 sons as beneficiaries. He got one for 68k that is a term policy & will end before the oldest is out of high school. This has been an issue since the divorce & he is now naming them beneficiaries on 2 policies, one of which he has already named his other 2 sons from a 1st marriage as irrevocable & the other he refuses to tell me if that is the State Farm policy that according to his 1st divorce, his 1st 2 sons are irrevocable. The first 2 sons are adults but if his first divorce papers name them as irrevocable is it legal for him to change beneficiaries? He claims that, according to the first divorce papers, it only applies while the children are minors but will not provide a copy of this information to me. Should I contact the first ex-wife to get a copy? I am a single parent, working 2 jobs and cannot afford legal action (he also plays games with child support - post dating checks - bad checks). Can I make him pay for any legal action I need to take?

You may want to get a copy of the order from the courthouse and see what is says; then file for contempt if he is wrong.
