Default Runaway...

I have a dear friend who ran away.
He took off in a car, unlicensed. The car was on his parents' insurance, in their name. He's currently unable to be found.

What could he be charged with, and what's the statute of limitations on it all? How much trouble could he be in?

Also, he's a minor.

Well that is auto theft and driving w/o a license.

He would be best to off get back asap and at least appear to cooperate.

How much time could that land the poor guy?
And do his parents have any say in whether or not he's charged with anything? I'd hope so... They might be nice about it...

Cops haven't been brought in yet. Technically, he won't be charged with anything if they never know, will he?

If they catch him driving they will.

Tell him to get the car back and end this nonsense before it gets worse.
