My husband's sister and her lawyer daughter have got all the family land deeded to them as if they bought it. When my husband found out in the local newspaper that it had been "sold" to them, he was very upset because part of the land had been promised to his daughter since she was a child. When he quit talking to any in the family his mother called his daughter crying and wanting him to come and talk to her and his father. He did this but was told lately by a trusted aunt that his mother told her that they taped the conversation and she could listen to the tape if she wanted to. Is it legal for them to tape him without his knowledge?

We normally recommend you check with your state attorney general's office or the local police dept. --See also "taping phone calls" on our site-- http://www.worldlawdirect.com/article/1042 -- if you can't tape calls then you normally cannot tape conversations--if you can tape calls then check with your State Attorney General for the laws regarding in-person conversations--

I don't think you want your personal phone number and address posted on a public forum. There's tons of crazies out there who could use it maliciously.

Re: Family problems
My soon to be ex-husband wants his girlfriend to be the one to pick-up/drop off our son and be the "careprovider" while he is at work. Most of the time, I am at home anyways. Is there a law that says he has the has the right to choose who watches our son while he is at work or could I be the one (mom) to watch him? He cheated with her 10 years off/on of 13 year marriage.

Unless there is a danger to the child, what he does with his son during his time is his decision. And if he really has had a relationship with this woman for 10 years, chances are it is going to continue for quite some time, so bitter as it seems, you need to reconcile yourself to the fact that this woman is going to be around your son.
