I had filed a final divorce decree in Dallas County, Texas and it was not approved. The reason it was not approved is that there is a child custody case filed in Denton County, Texas in which my mother-in-law was awarded temporary custody of my three minor children. The Dallas County clerk's office informed me that I must consolidate the child custody case from Denton County with my divorce case in Dallas County. I need legal advice on what steps I need to take to consolidate these cases and what legal forms I need to complete so that I can refile my final divorce decree. FYI: All parties involved (my mother-in-law, wife, and myself) do not wish to contest the custody of my children. We wish to leave the children where they are for a few years so they can have stability. My wife will not be contesting the divorce.

You could have all parties involved write the judge and say they agree to let the Dallas judge hear and resolve it. The other judge may then transfer it over. If that does not work you may have to file a formal motion or have counsel do so.
