Can I ask the court for grandparent rights in Michigan? I get to see my grandchild once in awhile every few months, but it's never enough.

Michigan has very specific laws regarding grandparent visitation.

Basically if mom and dad are married, your best bet is to make nice with them as Michigan courts won't rule in your favor. If the parents are unmarried but together and fit parents, if they oppose the motion, you lose.

In both of the above cases you will lose what time you get if you file.

In other situations the courts go case by case but you are the one who has to prove your involvement would benefit the children.

Yes, we do have all the reproductive rights. We also have all the reproductive responsibilities. Care to try those on for size, big boy?

The quick and simple answer is yes, you can. The outcome is not what you asked for. You asked if you could ask. You can.
