kids rights not being "forced" visitation w/unfit parent

At what age do kids have rights to "not" be forced to visitation with an unfit parent with several years of alcohol/drug abuse/arrests?

Generally at 18 years visitation schedule ends after which child can opt out of visitation. However, as regards visitation of children is concerned it is the best interest of child which is important. The court will be guided by interest of child. Now if you consider that a parent is not suitable for child to meet than it can be brought before court to decide that it is in interest of child to not to meet the parent.

If a parent is abusing drugs and alcohol, children are best off not around that parent. For obvious short and long term reasons.

No, YOU are wrong. You run around this board spouting the same thing every time; even going so far as to dig up extremely old posts just so you can make your irresponsible, vapid, specious comments. It's pretty apparent you have nothing else to do with your life and entirely too much time on your hands.

They can decide when they are willing to fight against the unfit parent. No human wants a nasty, angry, destructive child "visiting" them. When the kids fight back, it will stop.

children dont make these kind of decisions-period. telling this poster that children can legally refuse to disobey a court order can cause them a lot of problems-including losing custody. the court order is just that an order not a sugestion.

There are such things as child attorneys or child advocates so that children do have a say in who they want to live with and visitation

yeah and kids have the right to decide they arent going to school do their homework or stay out all night.
