breast feeding at work

I am a breast feeding mother. Are their laws pertaining to discrimination in the work place. I\'m not given the opportunity to pump at work.

Is there some reason you cannot pump at home? Do you receive a lunch break? Many lunch breaks are unpaid and you can do what you want during that time. Have you spoken with your boss or manager about this issue?

It's not really considered discrimination.

Come on!! At work? Why would you even consider that? It has nothing to do with discrimmination, but ethics, professionalism, and morals. We all it's a natural part of a woman's process of breastfeeding her infant, but definitely not at work. Is your child at work with you? If so, STILL it's not the place. You should have milk already prepared when you're going out or you send your child to daycare or whatever. Same with breast feeding. In public, in my opinion is not the place, I don't care how it is a part of breast feeding process. Use prepared pump milk when you're in public. It's a disgrace and quite shameful to look over to see a woman breast feeding. I am female and yes breast fed both children, just NEVER in public.
