I live in Washington and my kids live in Oregon with the other parent. We have established a parenting plan where our kids are with me every other weekend. Part of the Judgement is that both parents shall have the right to communicate by telephone, in writing or by email durinng reasonable hours without interference or monitoring by the other parent. I've been calling them all week to talk to kids and today he answered the phone and he refused to allow me to talk to our kids. Now, I am being accused of violating the "court order" because I took our kids out of state during my visitation last weekend. He is aware that I live in Washington. There is nothing in the Judgment stating that I am not to take our children out of state, or specifying where I can bring our kids... so.... I know that his accusation, is definately not in the best interest of our children. What can I do about this? He is also canceling future visitation because I violated an agreement that wasn't even in the agreement. Can I go to the court and file for Contempt on him? What is the next step?

[He is also canceling future visitation because I violated an agreement ]
He is not allowed to do that--both of you have to follow he order unless the judge changes it! Take him to court for contempt if you need to--be strict. |
