Canada.... i was married 22 years ago but we just found out through my husband getting his health card that his legal first name is not the name he has always gone by..he has nothing with his legal name on it except his birth certifiacte that he just got because he lost it when he was 10 ...and when he got it back last year it is a differant first name...the lady at the health office says his legal name is joseph and not terry..on my marriage licence there is no joseph on there..am i married or not....Terry is his third middle name...

You are yes but you should ask a court to review your records and issue an order ratifying and confirming.

hi there can anyone tell me if a marrige takes place in atigua between 2 canadian citizens, but the marrige certificate is never filed with the canadian government is the marrige still legal and recognized in canada? The reason I ask is im going thru a divorce and applied to vital stats canada for the marrige certificate and then my ex told me she never filed the document in canada.
