I know this may sound trite and petty but I am having a dispute with my brother over my cats. I moved in with my brother 5 years ago and live in the basement of his home. I have 2 cats which my sister-in-law found at the garbage dump at her school. I agreed to keep them and have paid for their spaying, neutering and other health issues that one of them had. I have also bought their food and litter. I am moving to my own place on May 1st and my brother wants to keep both of my cats even though he also has 2 of his own. He has threatened to call the Police and go to court if I try to take the cats. Can you advise me what my rights are?
