name change for children
How do I go about changing the middle names of my children? Their father was arrested for beating me & lives with his MOMMY. He was granted visitation but has yet to pay any child support. My son is a "JR" & I'd like to change his middle name as well as my daughter's.
Do I need his permission to do that? |

In most states you do need his permission. I don't know what state you're in but seek legal advice about it. also you have to placed the name change from to the new name in the newspaper also you have to send the father paper work stating that you are wishing to do this. So he can object to it if he chooses. Name changes do take time it doesn't happen in a week or two.
