Default Home Schooling

I'm thinking about home schooling my 12 yr old son. I work during the day so I would like to know if I can home school in the evenings. I'm located in the state of TX and although its to my understanding that TX doesnt have a set hour requirement; my concern is him being home during the day alone.

I think you are biting off more than you can chew if you are planning to work all day, and then come home and fix dinner for you child, ensure he takes a bath, do laundry, clean the house, etc., and still have sufficient time each evening to home school him.
But whether the child is adequately cared for during the day is a separate issue from the home schooling. Are you going to have him in child care, or at the home of a relative?

Maybe I didnt convey my question right...my concern is with him staying home alone during the day...what's the legal stand point in reference to this? So no, he will not be in child care or with an adult. Secondly, I'm working full time now and I have no problems coming home and cooking...as to the other chores, I don't do any laundry, etc during the week that's all taken care of on weekends. I do have an older daughter that cleans the dishes...if that's what you're referring to. My son is 12 years old so having to ensure he takes a bath in the evening would entail me telling him to go take a bath...which I dont have to do now since he knows that he must take a bath by 9:00 pm.

Are you an attorney? I would really like an answer from a legal stand point...however, thanks for your opinion.
