I(wife) began Divorce procedings in 4/07 in PA. my husband moved out with step-daughter 10/26/06(mutaully agreed).11/06 he bought property up the road (5 miles).
Sept. 24th i handed him a marital agreement to sign. In short i have no claim to his property, however I expect payment for credit card debt and a car sold 1700.00 at time of separation. he does not want to sign it! Do I have a right to ask for half of the value of property he bought??? |

I would hope not, since that was acquired after divorce proceedings commenced.
But, if you are able to legally claim partial ownership in the property then you would also have partial responsibility for the debt. Presumably, the net effect would be a wash. You'll need to find some other leverage to get him to the table. |
