I am in Canada.
My 1/2 siblings reside in the US (15 & 14yrs old) In the last 2wks, I have been contacted via a website by my 1/2 sibling that until now, I did not know of her existence. She sought out myself, and my 2 other 'full' sisters, wanting to know us. She had been going through her (our) father's stuff and came across some papers and pictures with our names. However, since the evening that she had an online convo with my other sister, she has not been online nor answered any messages. It's been over a week. During that convo, she told my full sister that her (our) father had seen whom she was talking to. We believe he has denied her computer access. We believe this because 21yrs ago, he was convicted of child molestation and abuse of my 2 'full' sisters and myself, and think he doesn't want his new family knowing of his past. We aren't interested in revenge. We do not want to damage these children irrevocably with such information IF they are leading a better life than we did. We simply want to make sure that they are safe, and learn to know them and love them. They are our blood. My 2 younger 'full' sisters and myself ,are young adults. Our 1/2 siblings are minors. We wish to know if we've any right to visitation and/or communication with these children if 'our' father objects? |

You have no rights to communication with them if their parents tell you not to communicate with them.
But unless you have been ordered to cease contact with them, you are not going to get into any trouble by attempting other reasonable methods of contact. Plus, I doubt the father would be interested in filing any legal charges against you for contacting them, for fear of dredging up shady issues from his past. |
