Exclamation Emancipation

I will be graduating High School next year in January and would like to get emancipated in either Florida or Ohio; not sure which state I will be a resident of yet at that time so information for both would be appreciated. I will be graduated from high school, 17 years of age, joined the Marines and be in the Delayed Entry Program, and living with a roommate (fiance) who I wil marry next year. Once I found out which state I will be a resident of we will both then get jobs. I seem to fit all criteria except that I'm not abused or anything, it would just be easier for my mother's financial status and she is leaving to join the Army so power of attorney would be given up for me and my brother. Before she left I would rather go on my own with my fiance than wait 8 months until I am 18 for her to return home. She has agreed to emancipate me before she leaves for the Army and has full custody and full guardianship of me. I was wondering if this was enough because the whereabouts of my father are unknown and he has not called me for at least a year. So I believe my reasons are stable for court and I can support myself. However, I would like a legal opinion on my position and if I am good to go or if I need anything else to do. Also, I would like a procedure explained as well if possible.

You can do that yes, you will need a job. Or you could just agree with your mom how to handle this until you are 18--do you actually have to emancipate?

Social services can assist you as well by the way.
