Default molestation

My 2 nieces ages 18 and 20 have just reported to their mother that they were sexually abused by their father.Their parents have since divorced. The 18 yr old said it was when she was 12 and lasted a while. The 20 yr old said it happened when she was staying with him and he was on drugs. She was 17. Is it too late to prosecute? They live in Los Angeles. Can they go to the police station and report it?

Yes, they can go to a police station and report it. The police will let them know if it is not too late to prosecute.
