boyfriend walked out on me while i was in labor
My boyfriend (and father of my child) walked out on me while I was in labor and disappeared for two days. He took my car which was packed with Hospital needs and my money and was my transportation to the Hospital. He told me he would be back and every time I called he would say \'I\'m almost there\' or \'I\'m parking the car\' etc. until finally (10 hours after leading me on as my need to get to the hospital became more and more severe) he stopped answering the phone. Eventually, because of this, I broke up with him. I was in labor for approximately 50 hours and he left me around hour 36, so - Long story short - he ended up disappearing to live with his family in Florida (without telling me) 6 months ago - He hasn\'t paid Child Support. I\'m moving forward with the initial steps to collect Child Support and plan to then go after back owed Child Support - I am wondering, based on the emotional trauma, etc. caused by him abandoning me while in labor - is there a case? I\'m mostly curious and would consider pursuing if I had more information? I should also mention that his parents were living with us at the time and during those 10 hours of labor I was on my own because they were in their bedroom sleeping. His mother finally woke up, I had to borrow money from her to take a cab, she walked me to the door as I walked to the cab up the street stooped over in pain - yes - that's right, she not only did not escort me to the cab, she did not come to the hospital with me either. Thank you.
